Muro beach also referred to as Playa de Muro in Santa Margalida, which along with Alcudia Beach make up the sandbar and dunes of the Albufera of Mallorca isone of the longest coastlines in the Balearic Islands with an area of 5.2 km. Its privileged location in the natural park of S'Albufera, north of Mallorca, makes this beach unique. It is divided into four sections: Playa de Muro sector I, Playa de Muro sector II, Playa de Muro and is Capellans. All of them boast the most incredible crystal waters in Mallorca.

What is so different to the rest of the coast is the shore and its fine sand. The shore consists of a large dune field undeveloped and protected by environmental legislation, colonized by pinewood and a gap of junipers, unique to the island. The closed sandy area lying between the dunes and the sea is mainly occupied by nudists.  It is also one of the few beaches in Mallorca that is Environment ISO 1400 certified for health, safety and demanding services, that is marked by a blue flag of which only three beaches have in Spain.

On the beach of Muro, you can enjoy free time and leisure activities. A great location for sports such as cycling and golf and also has great hotels that attracts thousands of foreigners and locals every summer, in particularly at the main port of Alcudia which is located only 3 kilometres away and 10 kilometres from the centre of the island.

The whole area that makes up Playa de Muro is an ideal destination for families, where children can enjoy shallow water with the aim of ensuring the protection of the children.

But undoubtedly one of the natural treasures of Mallorca is the Albufera Natural Park in Playa de Muro. We recommend getting lost in its marshes and dunes and observe the biodiversity of its environment that encompasses diverse ecosystems and through which pass each year more than 200 species of birds.

Playa de Muro has all of this and much more ... If you choose to spend your vacation or live in Mallorca do not forget to visit this area.
