Mallorca and beach are two important words that usually apply to all visitors who decide to travel to Mallorca. Among all the paradisiacal beaches that the island offers us on this occasion, we visit Cala Mesquida, a beach worth visiting from our villa in Mallorca: Will you accompany us?
Cala Mesquida is a fine sandy beach, which is shaped like a bay and has a length of about 350 meters. This beach is just a few kilometres from Capdepera and Artà, in the north-west of the island, and a little further from Alcudia and Pollensa, two ideal locations for renting a holiday home in Mallorca. The fine sand, the crystalline waters of the tropical island and the landscape of dunes and pines that surround the beach form a beautiful whole that impresses with its wild nature. As is normal in view of its beauty and spectacularity, this is a beach that is very popular with tourists, which is why we recommend that you leave early from your villa in Mallorca to get a good spot.
You can drive close to the beach (at Sealand Villas car rental is included in the price of our villas on Mallorca), but the last 200 metres we have to walk. The beach has a large parking lot to park the car, but when it is full there is nothing else but to park it in one of the streets around the bay. If you do not want to drive to Cala Mesquida with your own vehicle, you can take buses or taxis from Capdepera or Artà.
As for the beach services, Cala Mesquida offers showers, parasols and loungers for rent, a bar and a restaurant (where we can taste everything from hamburgers to typical Spanish dishes). We can also rent diving equipment or a velomar. But other water sports are forbidden, especially in the high season, so that bathers can enjoy the beach calmly.
As an additional note, if you are a golf enthusiast, you can practice your swing at Capdepera Golf, only 8 km away. An excellent 18-hole golf course designed for all types of golfers, both the most experienced and those new to the sport.
As already mentioned, the beach is very close to the towns of Capdepera and Artà. From Capdepera we would like to highlight the Capdepera Castle, especially when the day is not very hot, so that the ascent is more bearable. As far as Artá is concerned, we recommend both the Santuari de Sant Salvador and the Cuevas de Artà, which are an ideal visit for a hot day.
