If you are thinking about spending your holidays in Mallorca, you will probably have heard of it. Santa Ponça is one of the areas in Mallorca with most tourist visits, as well as being very frequented by residents.

Santa Ponça is an urban nucleus that belongs to the municipality of Calviá. It has around 11.000 habitants and it’s the most populated area of Tramuntana. Its name, contrary to the roman origin that until recently it was thought to have, comes from the period of the conquest of King Jaume I. The beach in which the Christians landed was a reed field called Sanat Busa, which means “place where reeds grow” in Arabic.

After this small introduction, let’s see today’s suggestion:

1. A swim in Caló d’en Pellicer

You will probably be tired to be suggested to go to the typical and most well known beaches, that is why we consider Caló d’en Pellicer a perfect place to avoid that. It is a water inbound with a U shape that ends in a little beach that is very long and hardly wide with golden sand. It is not very well known between tourists, that is why if you get there early in the morning you won’t have any trouble finding a good spot. Get ready to enjoy the sun and crystalline waters.

2. A little bite in Club Nautico Santa Ponça

After a few hours on the beach, under the sun, you will probably feel like a little snack. We suggest a place within walking distance and that has very good reviews by the travelers that visit Santa Ponça. Hidden inside the Club Nautico you can find Ristorante Classico Club Nautico, a place where you can taste delicious creative cuisine, and for a reasonable price. It is an Italian restaurant, so we recommend you to request a good pairing for a pasta or risotto dish and a wine that is according. We confess that the gnoquis are spectacular.

3. A fun evening in Jungle Park

¿Who can resist going to a theme park? And what if we tell you that it is located in a natural area and counts with multiple activities to be carried out in the middle of the wilderness…and very close to where you were having lunch! It is a fun plan either if you are with kids or just with friends or your partner. It is a park with routes in which you can jump from tree to tree just like Tarzan, with lianas, bridges and ziplines. It gives you a good dose of adrenaline after a quiet morning.

Remember to take comfortable clothes and shoes. The ticket prices go between 14€ and 25€, depending on the route chosen. The park is open only during the high season from 10:00 till 18:00.

Address: Avenida Jaime I, 40A, Santa Ponsa

4. A frozen sunset

To finish our day trip in Santa Ponça, we suggest the Ice Cream shop called Milano, whose specialty is 100% Italian homemade ice creams. Buy some ice creams and have a sit to watch the sunset on the Santa Ponça beach, which will probably be quite empty at this time. You won’t regret it.

The ice cream shop is on Calle Riu, 2-2 bajo.
