After spending the morning in the port of Sóller, as we have said before, we will now explain everything you should not miss in the village of Sóller during your vacation in Majorca.
The Plaza de la Constitución
The heart of Sóller and the image that comes to mind to all tourists who have decided to travel to Majorca when they think of Sóller. In this square filled with cafes, which is crossed by the tram, lies the Church of Sant Bartomeu, the most emblematic building of Sóller.
The Church of Sant Bartomeu combines different styles such as Baroque, Gothic and modernist. This mixture of styles gives this curch a charisma and personality that makes it stand above other churches. To enter you only have to pay € 1 in concept of donation.
If we want to rest a while, this square is a perfect place to take an orange juice or an ice cream, both very typical products of the area, sitting on a bench in the shade of the trees or on a terrace of the many cafés that exist on the square.
Can Prunera is the Museum of modern art in which we can admire works by authors such as Kandinksy, Picasso or Warhol. But this museum is not only worth to be visited by works containing, but by the building itself. A monumental casal of Art Nouveau style with three stories high and perfectly restored to maintain its original splendor. The visit costs €5 and remember to visit it soon because this Museum closes at 18 h.
In addition to this museum it is also worth visiting the Balearic Museum of Natural Sciences and the Botanical Garden, which contains a wide variety of native plants. Both situated at a short distance from the Centre.
Mercadillo de Sóller - the market
Held only on Saturday, day in which the town is flooded with the hustle and bustle that occurs among merchants and shoppers. In this market you will find items as diverse as food, decorative products, local art and even hand painted furniture.
But, outside of the specific places everybody is visiting, you should not miss strolling through the streets of Sóller. Streets in which you will discover many beautiful and magical places that makes it to one of the main reasons why it is really worth it to travel to Sóller in Majorca.
