When renting a villa in Mallorca, the first thing that comes to mind is the sea and beaches but we shouldn’t forget that the beauty of this island is not limited only to its coast.
Serra de Tramuntana
Travelling to Mallorca can be the perfect opportunity to enjoy this amazing hilly landscape, inscribed as a World Heritage site by UNESCO in June 2011.
Make the most out of your villa in Pollença
If you have rented a holiday villa in Pollença, you have the opportunity to enjoy two out of three of the most amazing routes in the Serra de Tramuntana.
Doing this route you will get to follow the steps of some writers. On the one hand, you can follow the steps of the French novelist George Sand. In her novel A winter in Mallorca, she describes the landscapes of the area and the personality of Mallorcan people at that time. During this route, you will have the opportunity to visit The Valldemossa Charterhouse, where the writer spent some nights with her partner from that time, the renowned composer Frédéric Chopin.
Moreover, in Deià, you can visit the tombstone of English writer and scholar Robert Graves. “Mallorca is paradise, if you can stand it” told Gertrude Stein to the writer months before he decided to visit her.
Called after a traditional construction technique from Mallorca where mortar is not used to stick the stones together. Taking advantage of our villa in Pollença, we will start this route from Pollença to Deià. The Dry Stone route has 4 stages, about 165 km total.
Mallorca from a bird’s eye view
From El Puig Major, we can have the entire island at our feet. El Puig Major, with 1,436 meters, is the highest peak, not only of Mallorca but also of all the Balearic Islands.
Enjoy the Serra de Tramuntana your way!
You can go across the Serra de Tramuntana by car, but it is not the only way to enjoy it. You can also do trekking, mountain biking or even climbing, go rafting and, if you get all the necessary permits, you can even have a quiet day to go fishing.
If you think that all the aforementioned is not enough, in 30 minutes you could be enjoying an amazing beach!
