There is the Majorca of Sun and beach, by which every year millions of tourists decide to travel to Majorca, but the island has much more to offer and among all the wonders that houses Majorca are its natural parks. Here are the 5 most important natural parks on the island that every nature lover should not miss during their holidays in Majorca.

Cabrera Archipielago Maritime-Terrestrial National Park

This set of islets is located near the Colonia de Sant Jordi and Porto Petro – localities from which, in the summer months, they depart daily tourist boats towards this park. It is very important to warn those who are going to approach the park on their own boat that they must request permission beforehand.

The flora and fauna of the surface already would compensate the excursion, but the most beautiful of this park is underwater. The coastline of this park, is one of the most spectacular and best preserved of all the coasts, not only of Majorca but of Spain. It should be mentioned as well that 85% of the surface of the park is sea.

Mondragó National Park

This park is located in the south-east of the island, a few kilometres from Cala d’Or - one of the best places to rent a holiday home in Majorca. It has been declared of special protection for the birds, since it houses more than seventy species. And, since we are making this excursion from our villa in Majorca, don’t forget to pass by Cala Mondragó, undoubtedly one of the best beaches on the whole island.

Tramuntana Mountains

In Majorca you don’t have to choose between sea and mountain because there is everything. And as maximum exponent of the second we have the Sierra de Tramuntana. Nothing more to say that it has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, that’s all there is to it. An essential without palliatives.

S’Albufera Natural Park

Located less than 10km from Alcudia, the Natural Park of s’Albufera is one of the most privileged areas to rent a villa on Majorca. It is the largest wetland on the island, allowing for the continuous growth of vegetation. Please note that the park cannot be reached by car, it must be parked at the entrance and accessed either on foot or by bicycle over the bridge ‘Puente de los Ingleses’.

Sa Dragonera Natural Park

This natural park of 908 hectares, located in the municipality of Andratx, is separated about 800m from Majorca. There are many boats to access it. Walking through its three trails we can appreciate up to 361 varieties of plants.
