A 312 kilometre cycling route in Majorca was born with the goal of becoming a reference event for cycling enthusiasts. We are speaking of the largest cycle-tourist route in Spain.
Hundreds of professional cycling teams travel to the largest of the Balearic islands for their preseason training; Majorca’s excellent climate, natural environment and roads make it an unbeatable setting for this sport.
The Mallorca 312 event runs along the island’s perimeter, passing through landmarks such as Muro Beach, Alcudia, the Tramuntana Mountain range, Andratx, the city of Palma, Porto Cristo and Artà. This edition will include places that are not as well known, but with great scenic and natural beauty.
This year, 2015, the challenge will begin on Saturday, the 25th of April. In total, it is estimated to be 14 hours of duration, with the attendance of over 500 participants.
With the aim of encouraging participation in the Mallorca 312, its organization has designed an alternative 167 kilometre route, available for those who are not up to the complete tour. The start and finish will be in the same place, the only difference is that this shorter, alternative route will run along the north-western part of the island.
The Mallorca 312 also includes a full schedule of leisure activities for both cyclists and their accompanying parties.
This is definitely an event to take into account; the Mallorca 312 perfectly combines leisure, sport and fun.
