This small island, located in the Chinijo archipelago - to the northwest of Lanzarote - is an essential excursion for those who have decided to travel to Lanzarote, especially for lovers of natural and virgin landscapes.

The island "La Graciosa"

La Graciosa is separated from the island of Lanzarote by a narrow strip of sea, so narrow that it is known as The River. The island of La Graciosa has about 29km² of surface area, very few but very charming to enjoy during your holidays on Lanzarote.  As already mentioned it belongs to the Chinijo archipelago, with La Graciosa being the largest. The island has two small villages (Caleta del Sebo and Pedro Barba) and is the least populated of all the islands inhabited in the Canary Islands.

How to get to La Graciosa

Accessing La Graciosa from your villa on Lanzarote is extremely easy as there are numerous ferries linking both islands. Your excursion will start by travelling from your holiday home on Lanzarote to the port of Órzola - located in the north of the island . Remember that Sealand Villas includes free car hire in all their bookings. Once you board the ferry, in less than half an hour you will move from Lanzarote to the port of Caleta del Sebo in La Graciosa.  Once there, you only have to enjoy the wonders of the island.

What to do in La Graciosa

As already mentioned at the beginning, this island is an ideal place for people who love nature, since it maintains its natural beauty without suffering almost any interference from man's hand. A clear example of this is that there are no paved roads.

On the island you will find the silence that becomes more and more complicated in modern times. Enjoy the golden beaches - including the imposing beach of Las Conchas and Baja del Ganado. After crossing a half-hour trail, you can admire the yellow mountain, which, like the rest of the island, is of volcanic origin. It is also advisable to rent a bike and explore the island to discover the most secret corners. If you want to stay active during your holiday on Lanzarote, you can do various water activities such as kayaking or snorkeling on the island.

And we have another tip for you: In the harbour of Caleta de Sebo you also have the possibility to get on a sailboat and explore the south coast of the island.  Another way to enjoy the beauty of the island.

As you can see, if you are looking for peace during your holiday on Lanzarote or just want to enjoy the beauty of nature in its purest form, La Graciosa is an indispensable excursion.
