Why rent a villa in Majorca?

Choosing a villa stay is a completely different experience from a hotel, it’s about having your own sanctuary. With your own space and total privacy, you can slow down and enjoy the island at your own pace. That means no set meal times, no crowded pools, and definitely no sharing your sunbed! It’s all about your own rhythm and the freedom to truly unwind.
Privacy, flexibility & freedom:

  • Your own private pool - most of our villas feature a pool for your exclusive use, with plenty of space to soak up the sun in peace.
  • Al fresco living - enjoy private gardens, sun-drenched terraces, and shaded spots perfect for slow breakfasts and those long, lazy Mediterranean lunches.
  • The joy of outdoor dining - fire up the BBQ for easy, no-rush evenings under the stars with your favourite local ingredients.
  • Space for everyone - with more room for families and groups, our villas are made for shared meals and slow mornings together.
  • The heart of the home - cook whenever you like in a fully equipped kitchen (perfect for trying out those local market finds!).
  • Cool & comfortable - stay chilled with air conditioning in all villas (be sure to check individual listings for room-by-room details).

Helping Majorca stay beautiful

We love Majorca as much as you do and we’re committed to protecting its natural beauty for generations to come. Our villa collection focuses on "slow travel", encouraging a deeper connection with the island while minimizing our footprint.

Our green steps:

  • Supporting local makers: every Welcome Pack features products from local Majorcan farmers and artisans, reducing "food miles" and supporting the island's economy.
  • Eco-friendly essentials: many of our villas have moved toward refillable, locally-made organic toiletries to reduce single-use plastic waste.
  • Energy & water wisdom: we work with our owners to implement water-saving systems and energy-efficient lighting. In a Mediterranean climate, every drop of water saved helps protect our lush landscapes.
  • The Ecotax at work: by including the Sustainable Tourism Tax (Ecotax) in your booking, you are directly contributing to the preservation of Majorca’s natural parks and historical sites.

About Majorca

Thinking about Majorca for your next holiday? It’s a brilliant choice!

The largest of the Balearic Islands is truly made for slow, sunny days—from discovering hidden turquoise calas and long sandy beaches to strolling along palm-lined promenades in charming towns that feel wonderfully timeless. Beyond the coast, you’ll find the breathtaking mountain scenery of the Serra de Tramuntana (a UNESCO World Heritage site), peaceful countryside, and villages steeped in history from Roman, Moorish, and Mediterranean influences.

Getting to Majorca

The island is easy to reach, with excellent flight connections via Palma de Majorca Airport, from most major cities in Europe, it’s typically around 2–3 hours by air.

Majorca year-round: when is the best time to visit?

Majorca isn’t only a summer destination.
  • January to mid-March: almond blossom season.
  • Spring and autumn: ideal for cycling, hiking, and scenic drives.
  • Summer: long beach days, warm evenings, and a lively atmosphere.
  • Winter: quieter villages, mild sunshine, and a slower pace.

Weather in Majorca

Majorca enjoys a sunny Mediterranean climate. July and August are the hottest months (often 30°C+), while spring and autumn offer pleasant temperatures with fewer crowds.

Things to do in Majorca

Majorca is a dream destination that truly has something for everyone. Whether you’re staying in a coastal villa or a rural hideaway, the island’s mix of sunny days and timeless charm makes every moment feel special.

Sun, sand & secluded calas

For those who love the sea, the island's coastline is legendary. You can soak up the sun on the golden sands of Playa de Muro (famed for its shallow, family-friendly waters) or find a quieter rhythm in the picturesque coves of Cala Mondragó.

  • A local secret: For a more adventurous and secluded experience, take the coastal path to Cala Bóquer. It’s a stunning, rocky cove at the end of a dramatic valley—perfect for a peaceful morning of snorkeling away from the crowds.
  • On the water: The Bay of Pollença is a haven for water sports. You can rent a "llaut" (a traditional Majorcan fishing boat) from the Puerto Pollença Marina or spend an afternoon paddleboarding toward the iconic Formentor Lighthouse for some of the most beautiful coastal views in the Mediterranean.

A touch of culture in Palma

The vibrant capital, Palma, is a must-visit. You’ll fall in love with the historic streets of the Old Town, leading you to the breathtaking Palma Cathedral (La Seu) and the ancient Almudaina Palace.

  • For art lovers: Don't miss the Es Baluard Museum for a dose of contemporary culture, or hike up to the circular Bellver Castle for the most iconic panoramic views of the bay.

Nature & adventure in the Tramuntana

Nature enthusiasts will be enchanted by the Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage site that is a paradise for hikers and cyclists.

  • Iconic routes: Walk a section of the famous Ruta de la Pedra en Sec (GR 221) or take the vintage wooden train from Palma to the citrus-scented valley of Sóller.
  • Underground wonders: Explore the magical Caves of Hams or the Caves of Drach, where you can enjoy a classical music concert on one of the world's largest underground lakes.

A taste of the island

Food is at the heart of Majorcan life! We recommend a morning stroll through the Mercat de l’Olivar in Palma or the bustling weekly markets in Pollença and Santanyí.

  • Must-tries: You can't leave without tasting a flaky ensaimada pastry or the savory, paprika-spiced sobrassada.
  • Sustainable Dining: For a special evening, look for restaurants with a Michelin Green Star, such as Terrae in Port Pollença, which celebrate the island's incredible local produce.

Family fun & active days

Majorca is incredibly welcoming for families. Spend a day marveling at the marine life at Palma Aquarium, or let the kids run wild at Hidropark Alcúdia.

  • For Golfers: If you’re looking to tee off, the island offers some of Europe’s finest courses, including the stunning coastal greens of Club de Golf Alcanada.

The best beaches in Majorca

With its shimmering turquoise waters and over 500 kilometres of coastline, Majorca is home to some of the most breathtaking beaches in Europe. Whether you’re after a lively family spot or a secret rocky cove, there’s a perfect patch of sand waiting for you.

The south & east: pristine nature

  • Es Trenc – often called Majorca’s answer to the Caribbean, this famous stretch of white sand on the south coast is wonderfully unspoilt. Because it’s part of a protected area, you won’t find large buildings here — just crystal-clear water and dunes.
  • Cala Mondragó – tucked away in a Natural Park on the south-east coast, this is actually two beautiful bays connected by a short path. Surrounded by pine forests, it’s one of the best spots on the island for snorkelling in calm, shallow waters.
  • Cala Varques – if you’re feeling adventurous, this secluded gem is reached via a scenic woodland hike. It’s peaceful, rugged, and known for nearby sea caves — perfect for anyone keen to escape the crowds.
  • Cala d’Or – a series of chic, golden-sand coves framed by rocky cliffs and whitewashed buildings. It’s ideal for a slow afternoon swim, followed by a stroll around the nearby marinas.

The north & north-east: family favourites

  • Playa de Muro – in the north-east, this award-winning beach is loved by families. The water stays shallow for a long way out, making it ideal for little ones to splash around while you relax on the golden sand.
  • Port de Pollença – a northern gem with a classic, palm-lined promenade. The bay is sheltered by the mountains, so the water is usually calm — great for paddleboarding or a relaxed family day out near the shops and cafés.

The lively coastlines

  • Cala Millor – for a day with a bit more buzz, this east-coast beach has it all. With a long sandy shore and plenty of beachfront restaurants and activities, it’s a favourite for those who like everything close at hand.
  • Playa de Palma – just a stone’s throw from Palma’s stunning architecture, this wide beach offers a cosmopolitan vibe. You can go from a morning of shopping in the city to an afternoon dip in the Mediterranean in minutes.

Our recent stay at Villa Francesco in Pollensa booked thru Sealand Villas was wonderful. The villa was perfect - quiet but located close to groceries, markets, beaches and old town. The grounds and accommodations were clean and well taken care of. Before our arrival we ordered the welcome pack so that we had some supplies after a long trip and what a welcome sight that was! Traveling from the US, the staff answered all our questions promptly and thoroughly and provided directions and instructions that made everything easy and smooth as we arrived...

Do you want peace and tranquillity? Do you want to chill out and as an added bonus do you want outstanding views? Then Serelleta is the place for you. A charming property, scrupulously clean, provided with ample cutlery and crockery. Two good sized bedrooms and two bathrooms. The Lounge is very comfortable with dining available both inside and out. The pool is a good size and well maintained. Pollenca is just a short drive away , with plenty of choices for dining out. The beaches at Puerto Pollenca are clean and sea swimming is a must. If I could rate this property higher than 10/10 then I would.

Sealand are amazing. I've used them for several years now. Their instructions are concise and to the point, if I have an issue they will get back to me very quickly regardless of time, and they always make sure you're happy.

I'm booked up for next year already, and now make sure Sealand are renting out the villa, as I know the experience will be much easier. As parents, my wife and I dont have time to worry about things when on holiday with the kids, and with Sealand we dont have to.
